Concrete Improvement in Safety Attitudes & Reduction in Injuries
Concrete Improvement in Safety Attitudes & Reduction in Injuries

This training project comprising of three regions throughout NSW saw all quarry/concrete managers and employees complete the Course in AS&QA to Level 3.

Ten months after commencement, benchmarking was conducted by the organisation to assess the effectiveness of the training. At this point there had been a significant reduction in Lost Time Injuries, Medical Treated Injuries and First Aid Injuries supporting the continuation of training throughout the rest of the state.

As with all other AS&QA projects, there was an improvement in safety awareness from Level 1 to Level 3, however it was interesting to note that the initial Level 1 scores were significantly higher than normal due to the use of the Accident Risk Management (ARM) Survey as a selection instrument for most of the training participants.
